Having lived in Cornwall all my life you can say Watersports is in my DNA – Kitesurfing, Windsurfing, SUP, Sailing, and more. With the longest UK county coastline it is hardly surprising that I have taken advantage of the abundant bounty that Cornwall has on offer. My father was a boat builder and I raced sailing dinghies and catamarans from an early age. In 1979 windsurfing became my primary interest both racing and playing in waves. I enjoyed success in Windsurf racing, wining many national titles and representing Team GB at the student worlds. Passionate about this watersport, I moved into Instructing and coaching and this lead on to my involvement in selling top end Watersports equipment.

As the owner of the counties leading Watersports specialst Westcountry Watersports, in 1996, we were one of the first retailers to embrace Kiteboarding in its infancy.

Passionate to this day in ensuring all my customers get the best advice and best service I have been supplying gear now for over 20 years. On this journey, initially with many of the brands we still see today, I adopted North Kiteboarding as soon as it came to the market place. Through out the last 20+ years this has remained as my primary brand of choice.

Moving on from owning Westcountry Watersports which is still going strong at Mylor Yacht Harbour (originally in Truro) – I now have established Kitesurfkit to enjoy sharing the lifestyle that Kitesurfing at home in Cornwall entails with my friends and customers. I now solely concentrate on what is now Duotone Kiteboarding, the number one kiteboarding brand on the marketplace today.

In my remaining spare time when not on the water I like to travel (more often than not with Kitesurf Kit).

I am on the board of the British Kitesurfing Association. I frequently sail locally in Falmouth through the summer which ties in with consulting at Windsport International with their marketing. I can often be found when it isn’t windy at Cafe Mylor.
